Miller & Kreisel S150 Speaker Adds Acoustic Refinements The First Update to the Classic Speaker is Meant to Redefine Sound Quality and Performance By RS Staff Published: January 11, 2018 ⋅ Updated: April 15, 2019 Miller & Kreisel has taken the high-performance technologies from its S300 speaker and integrated them into the new Miller & Kreisel S150. According to the company, these upgrades bring the S150 into the future and deliver new levels of sound quality. The Miller & Kreisel S150 has been designed to deliver a transparent soundstage that maintains the three-dimensionality, body, weight, and emotional impact for home theater installations. Although the S150 also features new Danish-designed high-performance tweeters with 28 mm vented voice coils that provide high power handling and extended linearity and 28 mm high-precision coated soft domes. The speakers also include a one-piece heavy duty cast aluminum Triple Tweeter Array plate and a specially constructed resonance-damped tweeter magnet-system for precise transient control. An integrated waveguide combined with short horn load provides wide dispersion and smooth frequency response. The speaker’s new 5.25-inch woofers feature aluminum rings for reduced distortion at high SPL levels, new extra-stiff coated fiberglass cone with special M&K profile geometry, a vented pole piece in magnet system for low-compression performance, and a vented voice coil for low compression.
