Eleven Engineering has released a control app, SKAA cmd, that works with Diz, Gemma, Ursula, and Izabella SKAA transmitters, allowing for customization and control of speakers, headphones, and transmitters. SKAA cmd (pronounced command) is now available at the Apple App Store.
“It’s darn handy,” said John Sobota, Eleven Engineering CEO. “If you’ve got a Diz, Gemma, Ursula, or Izabella transmitter, we highly recommend this app. Customize your speakers, headphones, and transmitters by giving them quirky, eccentric names. Know at a glance what devices are bonded and playing. Control each receiver’s volume individually, or all together. Set up whether each is playing stereo, mono, left, or right audio. SKAA cmd has all that, and more.”
SKAA cmd is available for Mac OS, Android, iOS, and Windows operating systems.
Features include power modes to set transmitter to on, off, or on when there’s audio to send, off when there isn’t; change/customize a receiver’s name; customize your transmitter’s name; set audio channel routing (left, right, mono, stereo); click a speaker icon to mute and unmute; mute-all macro button to instantly silence all bonded speakers/headphones; see at a glance which speakers are set up as clusters; volume control, and master volume slider, which affects all receivers bonded to the transmitter.
SKAA is a new wireless Hi-Fi audio standard developed by Eleven Engineering. SKAA transmitters work with iOS and Android mobile devices, Mac and Windows computers, televisions, and just about any product with a line output or a headphone jack. SKAA is also available as a built-in technology not requiring an external transmitter in purpose-designed partner products, which are featured at SKAA.com. SKAA navigates hostile environments saturated in wireless traffic with high reliability. SKAA delivers uninterrupted audio with the highest sound quality to all speakers without the latency that is inherent in other wireless solutions.
Recently, Apple unveiled iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, both without the familiar 3.5mm headphone jack. Eleven Engineering responded with SKAA Diz solutions for quality-centric headphone brands.
“This is why we created the SKAA Diz transmitter for Lightning,” said Rex Whitehead, Eleven Engineering director of sales, North America. “Diz takes full advantage of Lightning’s high-quality audio and wirelessly transmits that pristine digital stream to speakers and headphones built to the SKAA standard. Products using Lightning require Apple’s MFi approval, but the already-proven Diz transmitter makes this process quick and painless. SKAA cmd is the perfect app to control wireless headphones and speakers which take advantage of Lightning’s superior audio quality.”
With SKAA, the receivers (speakers/headphones) are in charge of selecting which transmitter to listen to; with SKAA there’s no pairing.
SKAA is designed to be easy to use: all compatible products are ready to play right out of the box. “It’s also highly flexible, being compatible with a fantastic breadth of audio sources,” Sobota said. “Plus, SKAA receivers can effortlessly switch from source to source.”
