By RS Staff Published: October 18, 2016 ⋅ Updated: April 15, 2019 Petra Industries’ 18th Annual Charity Golf Tournament, held on October 6, raised $70,000 to support Whiz Kids and Mercy Multiplied. “Giving back to the community is one of the cornerstones of any successful business, and Hope in One is a great example of that,” said Petra founder and CEO Bill Stewart. “I’m proud to say that it’s been another successful year for the tournament, and I’m thankful for the support of our vendors and partners who helped make it happen.” More than 70 of Petra’s vendors and partners participated in this year’s event. The festivities began on Wednesday, October 5, with a cocktail reception and Texas Hold ‘Em tournament at Topgolf Oklahoma City. The following day participants hit the links at Oak Tree Country Club for a shotgun-start best-ball scramble. The festivities concluded with a luncheon for all attendees, where prizes were awarded for best team score, longest drive, longest putt, and closest-to-the-pin competitions on designated holes. Near the conclusion of the event, participants were privileged to hear personal and inspirational testimonials from alumni of Whiz Kids and Mercy Multiplied. Their moving messages conveyed the positive influence that these programs have on the community to all in attendance.
