In our series of #CEDIAShares blogs, we’re talking with exhibitors about the hottest technologies and trends they’re looking to see at CEDIA Expo 2024.
Q&A with Scott Stephenson, senior director of product, global motorization at Hunter Douglas.
Why exhibit at CEDIA Expo 2024?
Hunter Douglas exhibits at CEDIA Expo year after year because it provides our team with an invaluable hub for connection. Engaging face-to-face with members of our Custom Integrator Program (CIP) and potential new dealers enables us to gain valuable insights into market demand, customer expectations, and the performance of our products within the industry. Additionally, these conversations provide a clear view of industry trends and opportunities we can help dealers achieve through our CIP and portfolio growth.
The show also allows integrators to experience our latest innovations firsthand and understand how to meet their customers’ evolving needs — there’s simply no match for live demos or experiencing new products, so we look forward to hearing feedback and excitement about our portfolio —c especially our latest additions.
What is the most exciting trend you expect to see at the show?
If the CEDIA community has proven anything over the years, it’s that there’s no such thing as a universal smart home. The connected home must be personal for users to truly reap the benefits, which means a customizable portfolio is essential.
While seamless integration is core to a cohesive project, a versatile mix of products takes user experiences from great to exceptional. Integrators have a more robust opportunity to design personalized ecosystems with products from various brands. We’re looking forward to seeing new ways in which product diversity and interoperability synergize to deliver a better experience for end-users and integrators alike.
What will you focus on at the show?
Hunter Douglas has a long legacy of continuing innovation in the shading category, so we enjoy bringing granular, design-forward, and customizable shades that expand natural lighting control to the show year over year. Once again exploring what’s possible beyond the standard roller shade, Hunter Douglas is set to debut a new shade style that adds a fresh twist to a nostalgic, widely adopted, yet relatively untapped design. We’ll also unveil an accessory to enhance sustainability, performance, and convenience for Hunter Douglas shades.
Hunter Douglas will showcase the most sought-after products and solutions, as well as engage with current and prospective members of our CIP. The program has experienced a 20-fold increase in membership in just five years, and we’re looking forward to sharing the newest resources and opportunities for dealers to grow their business within the smart shade category.
