In our series of #CEDIAShares blogs, we’re talking with exhibitors about the hottest technologies and trends they’re looking to see at CEDIA Expo 2024.

Q&A with Erin Phillips, VP at Pro Audio Technology and Theory Audio Design.

Why exhibit at CEDIA Expo 2024?

CEDIA Expo gives us a platform to demonstrate the latest PRO and Theory product lines in front of a large audience of qualified integrators, rep firms, consultants, and distributors from across the Americas and beyond and this year. We have a lot of new products to show. PRO and Theory (and specifically our CEO and product designer, Paul Hales) are renowned for putting on standout audio demonstrations and our program this year will not disappoint. We welcome all to sit through a demo in HPA room 202 (directly behind registration on street level) to hear the latest products from both brands.

CEDIA Expo also gives us a once-a-year check-in with media, industry partners, and our existing and potential customers to discuss the latest trends, product categories, and audio technologies. Every year the show gives us an opportunity to gather feedback, which helps inform the PRO and Theory product roadmaps.

Lastly, 2024 marks PRO’s 20th anniversary, and we look forward to CEDIA Expo 2024 to raise a glass and celebrate with PRO’s partners, friends, and customers!

What is the most exciting trend you expect to see at the show?

We expect networked audio including Dante and AES67 to be a major trend at this year’s CEDIA Expo — and it’s a trend we are completely on board with. Though it’s commonplace in professional and commercial installations, network audio is finally catching on in the residential market and is a technology that should not be ignored. It makes setting up and deploying even complex distributed audio systems painless and bulletproof with no bulky analog audio cables required. In May, Theory started shipping the next generation of DLC loudspeaker controllers equipped with Dante and AES67 audio-over-IP digital I/O and attendees can see and hear them in HPA room 202 paired with a Storm IS Evo fully-digital immersive sound processor.

We’re also seeing more and more video wall technology — primarily in premium residential installations where PRO is specified. At CEDIA Expo, we anticipate this technology will be a focus, and we look forward to checking out the latest display solutions from our industry partners. Attendees can see the gorgeous Jupiter Pana 105 5K LCD display in the PRO and Theory demo room.

What will you focus on at the show?

We are introducing and previewing over a dozen new products between the two brands! We’ve increased our footprint in booth #1943 on the show floor to accommodate all the new products we are introducing at the show. Combined with regular demos in HPA room 202, attendees can touch, feel, and experience every single new product PRO and Theory have to offer.

From Theory, we will show and demo the sb25aw all-weather surface mount loudspeaker introduced earlier this year. We are also bringing along the next generation of DLC loudspeaker controllers, including three models with a cohesive new industrial design: the DLC-250.4d and DLC-1500.4d now with Dante and AES67 compatibility, and an all-new DLC-250.8 1U 8-channel amplifier. Attendees will also get to see and hear Theory’s soon-to-be-announced ic6 Bollard landscape speaker and iws12 Bollard subwoofer, as well as get a hands-on demo of our upcoming DLC Wall Mount Controllers.

To celebrate its 20th anniversary, PRO looks forward to showing and demonstrating five new loudspeaker models ideal for video wall and commercial applications. All models are designed with ease-of-installation in mind while offering a new level of performance that will blow attendees’ minds. PRO will also preview its soon-to-be-announced ULFC-221is Infrasonic subwoofer in booth #1943.

There are so many industry friends I look forward to seeing at the show and I welcome all to come by booth #1943 to see all our new products and HPA room 202 to experience them. It’s going to be a great show for Theory and PRO!
