Autonomic Controls has partnered with Rhapsody to add its music service to all models of the Mirage Media Server.

For Rhapsody’s standard subscription fee of $10 per month, Mirage Media Servers now have access to more than 13 million songs, giving users a nearly limitless library of music to augment their personalized, cloud-based collections.

Custom installers have access to the Rhapsody music service on a device designed exclusively for control system integration. Rhapsody listeners will be able to easily locate favorite artists and new music by searching and browsing albums, artists, genres, top charts and the newest releases using their Crestron, AMX, RTI, Control4 or URC touchpanels. Full-featured control is also available with on-screen navigation (OSN), the web browser interface and apps for the iPhone and iPad.

Autonomic has integrated the Rhapsody service into its TuneBridge technology, which breaks down the barriers among local content and popular online streaming services, allowing users to engage in a seamless exploration of music. For example, upon hearing a new song while listening to Pandora or SiriusXM, an MMS user can press one or two buttons to quickly discover more music from that artist on Rhapsody, Spotify or Last.fm.

Rhapsody places no limit on the number of songs subscribers can play or how often they can play them. Rhapsody also maintains a “crack team of musical experts” who will create personally tailored recommendations for each subscriber based on their listening habits.

Rhapsody subscribers can interact with a music community that is 800,000 members strong to share, recommend and discover new content. Users can also choose from nearly 100 radio stations highlighting a wide variety of styles or create their own personalized programming.

The Rhapsody service is now available on all new Mirage Media Servers. Existing equipment can be updated via firmware update. Other new features and enhancements include Last.fm functionality, the ability to enter any internet radio URL, and on-screen navigation for browsing content and viewing now playing information using a D-pad remote control.
